Episode 2 Japanese Dar Adal has been on the fringes of every major storyline in Homeland Season 6, but it has been unclear up until this point what his purpose would be this year. Homeland Season 6 Episode 7 Review. Was he just there to be a thorn in everyones side, to cause problems for Saul at the CIA and put pressure on Keane, or was there something more sinister to his actions this season Well, Imminent Risk finally gives us a definitive answer on what Dar has been doing over these past seven episodes, as his connection with the man across the street is revealed, proving that Dar truly is Season 6s main villain. Really, theyre not on this season Thats surprising. Mona loves her that twisted love triangleIn this sitcom, Charlie, who takes Mike Flahertys place in later years, is the DeputyMayor of New York City, and his team of halfwits must constantly save the. Spin City is an American television sitcom that aired from September 17, 1996, until April 30, 2002, on ABC. Created by Gary David Goldberg and Bill Lawrence, the. Spin City Season 6 Episode 20' title='Spin City Season 6 Episode 20' />Is this reveal a major surprise Not particularly, as Homeland has shown Dar in opposition with pretty much every other character this season. Whether its Carrie, Saul, or President elect Keane, Dar has continuously been clashing with people, so when we do get confirmation that he was not only behind the explosion in New York but also Children Services taking away Frannie from Carrie, it makes perfect sense but it also puts Homeland in a place that its never been before with Dar. With so many peoples lives being affected by Dars actions and in the case of the bombing, people losing their lives, theres no way that the series can walk back what hes done and try to re establish Dar as someone who might be doing the wrong thing for the right reasons, as someone that we could possibly root for. Dar has always been shady and his morality has always been questionable, but the things he has done in Season 6 are unforgivable hes committed crimes all for the sake of his agenda, and he needs to be taken down. It appears, though, that if anyone is going to get the better of Dar it will be Saul, who recognizes the type of game his friend and colleague is playing after hes questioned about his time in the West Bank for long enough that it could hinder his plans to meet with Javadi. Dar and his men arent able to prevent Saul and Javadis conversation from taking place, though, despite the extreme lengths they go to in Javadis case, those extreme lengths include torture, and the result of their talk may be Dars undoing, as Saul plans to bring Javadi to President elect Keane so that she can hear it straight from him that Iran is not cheating on the nuclear deal. Could there be any better way for Dar to be served justice than by Keane herself Maybe there could be, because as personal as Dar has made things between him and Keane, he goes one step further with Carrie, informing Children Services of the apparent danger that Frannie is in so that she is taken away from her mother and, for the foreseeable future, forced to stay in foster care. If you had told me three years ago when Homeland first revealed that Carrie was pregnant that I would be this invested in a storyline focusing on her daughter, I wouldnt have believed you, but every Frannie centric part of Imminent Risk is an emotional gut punch, as we see the pain, fear, and utter hopelessness that Carrie experiences because of Dars input. And perhaps the worst part about it is that Carrie has no idea that Dar is the one pulling the strings she just believes shes been dealt a terrible hand, which is why she finds herself drinking and calling Keane to ask for help in her moment of despair. While Sauls path to taking down Dar Adal seems to clearly be headed towards Keane, Carrie remains a wild card until she finally puts the pieces together and connects Dar with the explosion in New York and Sekous death. If theres one thing to complain about in Imminent Risk and Season 6 as a whole, its been the lack of contact between Carrie and Saul the two of them have only shared one scene together this season, and one can only hope that their current goals lead them on a collision course. Little House Prairie Season 5 Episode 1 here. Homeland is always at its best with Carrie and Saul are working together, and there hasnt been nearly enough of that this season. And what about Carries other ally, Mr. Peter Quinn Well, thanks to Dars influence again, it looks like Quinn and Carrie might not be as friendly as they once were, as Dar tells Quinn that Carrie is responsible for his current state because she chose to woke him up from his coma despite all the risks that the doctors warned her about. We also discover that Astrid broke Quinn out the mental hospital last episode on Dars orders, and that Quinn staying out of sight and out of mind is part of some type of deal Dar struck to keep him out of jail and the hospital. Its also clearly another move by Dar to try to keep the cover up behind the bombing a secret. Quinn and Carrie were closing in on the truth, but if the two of them are separated, and worse if the two of them dont trust each other, then who will be able to figure out that Dar is truly the one responsible Hopefully, one of them can realize sooner or later that Dars the puppet master controlling everything and ensure that he faces the harsh consequences that he deserves for the crimes that he has committed. Other thoughts Very interesting conversation between Quinn and Dar Adal at the end there. Did Homeland just confirm that Dar is gay during that scene, and did the show also suggest that he might be attracted to or have some type of feelings for Quinn Keane continues to talk about her son publicly in this weeks episode, and this time, its during a live, on air interview that Dar and his colleague played by Robert Knepper watch while in a bar. How much damage did Carrie do to her relationship with Keane during their phone call Carrie asking the President elect for help, even for something that she calls unethical, doesnt seem too unforgivable, but bringing up Keanes dead son in the manner that she did might cause the soon to be president to put some distance between them. What did everyone else think about this weeks episode of Homeland, and what are your thoughts on Season 6 as a whole since were past the halfway point of the season now Comment below and let me know. Sansa Stark Sophie Turner controversy notwithstanding, the midpoint of season five features a shockingly defanged clash between Jaime Nikolaj Coster Waldau and Bronn Jerome Flynn against the Sand Snakes. It would rank as an all time high Power Rangers battle, but jarringly cartoonish by Thrones standards. Even the second lowest rated Thrones episode contains excellent Tyrion trickery as he exiles Janos Slynt Dominic Carter to the Wall. Season twos second episode also debuts the first, but not the last, Melisandre Carice van Houten and Stannis Baratheon Stephen Dillane sex scene a relationship thats strongly hinted at in the books, but outright confirmed on the show. Tywin Lannister Charles Dance flees Harrenhal to protect Kings Landing from the Baratheon army, ending his storyline with Arya Maisie Williams, an easy high point of the season, and one of the shows best deviations from the books. Theon Greyjoy Alfie Allen continues his downward spiral by killing two innocent children, originally believed to be Bran Isaac Hempstead Wright and Rickon Art Parkinson but he had already reached his point of no return an episode earlier. Jaime announces his intent to travel to Dorne to rescue his daughter, the beginning of one of the more misguided and maligned stories in the series. Far North, however, Jon Snow Kit Harington enjoys some surprising success, elected as the 9. Lord Commander of the Nights Watch. Spoiler It does not end well. Arya Starks war with the Waif comes to an end, wrapped up neatly after a fairly frustrating cliffhanger one week earlier. The Riverrun story ends with a bit of a shrug as well, even if its always delightful seeing Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth sharing screen time together. The outing is undeniably slowed down by Samwell Tarly and Gillys trip to Horn Hill, where they suffer through one of the most uncomfortable family dinners in Game of Thrones history. But the episode is helped by the return of Benjen Stark, last seen in season one, his existence now residing somewhere between human and White Walker. But thanks to solid advice from Tyrion Peter Dinklage, the future Lord Commander makes peace with his new fate at the coldest edge of the civilized world. Alas, poor Jory Jamie Sives, we knew him. But it was still brutal to watch the Ned Stark Sean Bean loyalist killed so suddenly, once the bad blood between House Stark and House Lannister finally reached its tipping point. The mass murder of Robert Baratheons bastard children remains one of the most sickening moments in all of Thrones, but its offset by a premiere episode that otherwise dwells on Daenerys Emilia Clarke roaming the Red Waste, and the Nights Watch spending far too much time with wildling creeper Craster Robert Pugh. Danys four episode exile in the Red Waste ends as she finally reaches Qarth the greatest city in the world, and also the site of some of the wonkiest book deviations in the whole series. Self appointed king candidate Renlys reign ended before ever moving past Storms End, killed at the hands of Melisandres shadow baby a supernatural occurrence that remains one of the shows more surreal moments to this date. The King Beyond the Wall dies a quick death, ending his story far sooner than book readers expected and appreciated. Jon Snows fight against the Nights Watch mutineers amounts to little more than an action scene for action scenes sake, with his story biding its time before the big battle at the Wall. Still, hard to argue that it wasnt gratifying to see Karl Burn Gorman eat a sword. Sandor Cleganes return from the dead was foretold by book enthusiasts who read between the lines in A Feast for Crows, the fourth novel in Martins fantasy series. But confirmation of his continued survival was a big treat nonetheless, especially because it further solidified the inevitable clash between the Hound and the Mountain fans lovingly refer to as. Better late than never Daenerys feeds a man to her pet dragon, then proposes marriage to the mans friend a few scenes later, because thats how the Khaleesi plays the game. Farewell, Barristan Selmy, killed unceremoniously in an alleyway brawl, well ahead of his time. In the books, Barristan the Bold remains alive and well the characters demise on the show did not sit well with actor Ian Mc. Elhinney. Jon Snow remained dead through the season six premiere, a disheartening development in the moment, ultimately redeemed one week later. But the episode ended in a powerful way all the same, when Melisandre of Asshai revealed her true form as an impossibly ancient woman, hundreds of years older than anyone ever imagined. It stands proudly alongside the Dragon Queens many badass moments throughout her run on Thrones. Of course, its an immediately regretted decision, but one that bonds the two unlikely companions closer together. Ned Stark kills his daughters dire wolf Lady for crimes she did not commit, on orders from King Robert Mark Addy more specifically, orders from Roberts wicked Lannister wife Cersei Lena Headey and. Meanwhile, the Hound Rory Mc. Cann slays the butchers boy and doesnt even receive a slap on the wrist. Thats justice in Westeros for you. Any episode that begins with Joffreys dead, purple face is off to a good start. The episode succeeds in its focus on the immediate aftermath of the so called. Another old warrior has better luck, as Barristan the Bold saves Daenerys in Astapor, offering his services to House Targaryen for the first time since the Mad Kings reign ended in fire and blood. Its second only to the closing line of the episode, as Littlefinger Aidan Gillen holds a dagger to Neds throat. Just as important, the episode featured an impressive flashback to the Tower of Joy, one of the most beloved sequences in Martins book series, lovingly and faithfully rendered on the show. The Wall, meanwhile, is a symbol of monumental achievement, as Jon and Ygritte Rose Leslie climb the thing against all odds, rewarding each other with the shows most passionate kiss. What happens when the greatest swordsman in Westeros suddenly loses his sword handThat journey plays out in the subsequent episodes, but Jaimes journey toward redemption begins here, his hand cleaved off in the episodes chaotic closing moments. Tyrion is at his Kings Hand best here, playing clever head games against Littlefinger, Varys Conleth Hill and Grand Maester Pycelle Julian Glover to ferret out a traitor. The episode closes with another brutal blow to Arya Stark, who helplessly watches as Lannister men kill her protector Yoren Francis Magee and her friend Lommy Greenhands Eros Vlahos. Granted, shes not flying toward Westeros at least not yet but her soaring liftoff from the fighting pits of Meereen nevertheless stands out as a season five high point. In retrospect, Catelyn Stark Michelle Fairley wrongly arresting Tyrion for ordering her sons assassination was a regrettable move, one that undeniably escalated the tension between Stark and Lannister past any possible reconciliation but it made for one heck of a cliffhanger. The Red Wedding permeates the entire episode, from the immediate aftermath featuring the butchered body of Robb Stark Richard Madden, to Joffreys outward gloating and Tywins quiet pride in ruthlessly blindsiding the Starks not to mention Tyrions shame over it all. Book purists were heartbroken when Littlefinger uttered. Looking past that nitpick, it was a breathtaking ending that established Littlefingers misguided motives, fueled almost entirely by his childhood crush. Up to this point, no other episode had so firmly established the shows ability to lap the books as. It was figuratively and literally chilling, as viewers watched an infant become a Walker with equal parts horror and awe. Historically, the second episode of season six will be best remembered as the one where Jon Snow came back to life.
